WASHINGTON, April 8 (UPI) -- Another defendant in the alleged Lackawanna, N.Y., terror cell case has pleaded guilty, the Justice Department said Tuesday.
In Buffalo, Sahim Alwan admitted to providing material support to al-Qaida and agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
A resident of Lackawanna, Alwan was one of six defendants charged in a two-count indictment in the Western District of New York last October with providing material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization, based on their alleged attendance at an al-Qaida training camp.
Alwan pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge William Skretny.
